BUCHIELIMITED Enquire

Buchie Limited ("we", "us") builds and operates ordering and messaging systems for businesses. This policy explains what personal data we handle, why we handle it, and what rights you have.

Who we are

Buchie Limited, company number 10333050, registered in England and Wales. Registered office: Flat 18 Fleet House, 18 Mackintosh Street, Bromley, England, BR2 9UW. Contact: privacy@buchie.co.uk

What we collect

When you message a business through a service we operate on their behalf, we process:

We do not collect or store payment card details. Payments are handled by a third-party payment provider.

Why we process it

Our lawful basis is performance of a contract where you place an order, and legitimate interests where we respond to enquiries and maintain the service. Where we send you marketing messages we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

Messages pass through Meta Platforms, which operates the WhatsApp Business Platform. Card payments are processed by Stripe. Where a delivery is arranged, the details needed to complete it are shared with the courier provider. Each of these handles your data under its own privacy policy. We share your order information with the business you ordered from. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else except where required by law.

Where we act as a processor

For some services we act as a data processor on behalf of a business client, who is the controller. In those cases we process data only on their documented instructions, under a written data processing agreement.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for up to 24 months. Message content not connected to an order is deleted within 90 days. Where we act as a processor, retention is set by our client and we delete or return the data at the end of the engagement.

Where your data is held

Data is stored within the UK or European Economic Area. Where a supplier transfers data outside these areas, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to request access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and to object to processing. You may also withdraw consent to marketing messages at any time by replying STOP.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@buchie.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
